The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources yesterday has formally submitted a gas export proposal to the Prime Minister's Office for approval.It said that a limited quantity of gas could be exported. A committee headed by the principal secretary should be formed to formulate regulations on gas export if the proposal is approved, the ministry suggested. State Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources AKM Mosharraf Hossain said that in the rate of five percent growth in gas production , by 2020 Bangladesh will have 34.67 trillion cubic feet of gas. However , a huge sum of money will be required for investment in the exploration of gas.
