In pursuance of their fifteen points demands the main opposition party in Bangladesh has called a full day general strike on February 12 in Bangladesh. Prime minister Khaleda Zia has criticised the opposition for,what she calls, disrupting the development in Bangladesh. Ten business leaders have appealed to the Leader of the Opposition to find alternatives to general strikes for meeting the demands of the opposition. They feel that general strikes will have serious negative effects on the economy of the country.
