In a reaction on the reshuffles in the cabinet the Awami League general secretary Abdul Jalil says that particularly dropping the Commerce Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury from the cabinet signals the internal conflict in the ruling BNP and he termed it as the "beginning of the end". He, however , described the long awaited reshuffle as a merely eye wash. Although Altaf Hossain chowdhury's removal was a long demand , he has been assigned Commerce Ministry .
