Two car bombs in Iraq killed at least 11 Iraqis and one American soldier Tuesday.

The U.S military says one of the cars exploded outside a coalition base near Baquba, killing two Iraqis and the U.S. soldier. Ten other soldiers were wounded.

Another car bomb went off near the mayor's office in the northern city of Mosul, killing nine people and wounding 25.

Near the city of Fallujah, west of Baghdad, witness say one Iraqi civilian was killed when gunmen opened fire on U.S. forces near an Iraqi police station.

South of Baghdad, six coalition soldiers from Slovakia, Poland and Latvia died in an accidental explosion of ammunition they were destroying.
