Two policemen were killed, and a police informant and a suspected criminal wounded in a fierce shootout at Motijheel on Sunday. Assistant sub-inspector Aminul Islam, 32, and havildar Liakat Ali, 35, members of Cobra 7, a newly formed crime combatant wing of the police, died on the spot. Amin was shot twice and Liakat once, both in the chest.
