The controversial statement of Prime Minister’s parliamentary affairs advisor Salauddin Qader Chowdhury against the main opposition leader on Sunday sparked a brief debate and walkout in parliament. The walkout by lawmakers of the opposition Awami League took place after the treasury bench members neither condemned nor supported “vulgarism” and “profanities” of Salauddin following his humiliating defeat in election for the top OIC post of secretary general of the Islamic body.
Salauddin Qader on his return from Istanbul after his shock defeat in the OIC election, on Friday made some sexist comments against Sheikh Hasina and also attacked on religious faith of senior AL lawmaker Suranjit Sengupta.
