Opposition Leader and Awami League Chairperson Sheikh Hasina received threats on her life. She is now in Istanbul and has informed her office in Dhaka that she had received several phone calls conveying threats in her hotel room. The anonymous caller said there might be attack on her either in Istanbul or in Dhaka after she gets back from Turkey. Threats were also made on her life in phone calls to her Dhaka office. The opposition leader's assistant private secretary Alauddin Ahmed Chowdhury lodged a general diary with the police.
