A fire raged through the New Banga Market, a downtown market in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Sunday, gutting nearly 1,800 bamboo and tin shops. One person was killed and many injured. Investigators are trying to determine the cause, but witnesses said it might have been started by an electrical short circuit. The blaze is thought to have originated in a shoe shop.
