An anti-government strike in Bangladesh , called by the Opposition parties BNP and Jamat-e-Islami entered its second day Monday with reports of protesters setting vehicles ablaze. The two-day nationwide strike - the second one this month - began Sunday, closing shops and businesses, and disrupting transportation. We have interviewed Abid Khan, a political analyst and Editor of a Bangla Daily ( Kaler Kontho) who talks about the confrontational politics in Bangladesh, the legacy of autocracy even in democratic administration and its impact on the general political culture of the country.
