Translation Summary: So far over 8,000 Rohingya have been relocated to Bhasanchar. Initially there were no employment opportunities in Bhasanchar but now employment opportunities are being created. From Bhasanchar Muhsana Akhter (25) said that she has been appointed as a Rohingya teacher of the learning center. Many women in Bhasanchar are trying to become self-sufficient by doing sewing and handicraft work and many women are raising poultry at home.
On the other hand, another Rohingya Abdul Amin (30) said that he has been working in the nursery and planting trees since he went to Bhasanchar, these works are being done under the supervision of Bangladesh Navy. He further said that those who are experienced in a particular profession are trying to do the work of that profession but the scope of work is still limited.
