Topic: Reaction of Mohammed Ali Jinnah, Communication Director of Camp Base Rohingya Youth Association (RYA) Regarding Myanmar’s Military Coup and Its Crackdown on Anti-regime Protestors
Translation Summary:
A Rohingya youth namely Mohammed Ali Jinnah, Communication Director of Camp Base Rohingya Youth Association (RYA) and resident of Balukhali camp said Voice of America Rohingya Lifeline Program that Rohingya have been oppressed by Myanmar military for many years. Also, Myanmar’s military committed genocide against Rohingya in August 2017 that’s why has been filled to the international Court of Justices (ICJ) against Myanmar’s military perpetrators as well. So, Rohingya are totally against of Myanmar’s military coup. I have seen the brutality during the Myanmar’s military crackdown August 2017. And the same military is behaving in a similar way against the anti- regime protesters. International community should put pressure on Myanmar’s military regime to stop it otherwise Myanmar’s military government will commit genocide on the people of Myanmar as they did on Rohingya.
Moreover, Rohingya can’t see the way of their repatriation restoring the citizenship rights unless Myanmar’s constitution is modified for the ethnic minority of Myanmar.
At the end, Jinnah said United State of America and powerful countries have imposed sanctions on Myanmar’s military but the junta is not obeying because some powerful countries like China, Russia and others country are helping and supporting the Myanmar’s military. “I think and believe that the Myanmar’s military coup issue can be resolved easily if the international community sanctioned against such countries who are helping the military junta before sanctioning the Myanmar’s military government “said Jinnah.
