Translation Summary: Extreme heat causes people of Bangladesh miserable specifically the Rohingyas who are living in the hilly area under the shelters made with tarpaulin and bamboo. Mohammad Shafik,from kutupalong camp said,” Our life here is going crazy in this extreme hot season”.
He also mentioned the importance of planting trees around the camp as deforestation happened when more than 7 hundred thousand Rohingyas arrived. He said,” Government gave us seedlings to plant. But there are more trees needed to make this place greener. The more trees we have in this camp can bring more shade and benefits we will get out of it. The environment will be full of oxygen and fresh air”.
“About 30%to 40% people are able to manage solar panel and electric fan those who have job or get dowry or have brought from home country. Maximum are suffering from extreme heat. We want to go back to our home and eagerly waiting for the solution to our problem”-He added.

Master Saidul Amin (33) from Camp 5 said that the increase in the number of coronavirus patients in the camps has created panic among people and now the Rohingyas are complying with the lockdown as much as possible and people are not going out unless it is needed. He added that the Rohingya are supporting the lockdown to protect themselves from the virus, but that the lockdown has led to a rise in domestic violence as incomes have stopped.
