Indian Foreign Minister Heads to Burma

India's Foreign Minister leaves on Wednesday for a visit to Burma.

Natwar Singh is expected to meet with head of state Than Shwe, as well as Prime Minister Soe Win. India's foreign ministry said in a statement that Mr. Singh will also meet with his Burmese counterpart, U Nyan Win, to discuss bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual concern.

Mr. Singh is also expected to visit with the Indian community in the central Burmese city of Mandalay.
