Bush to Deliver Major Speech on Terrorism

President Bush will deliver a major speech on Thursday describing Iraq's role as a major front in the war on terrorism.

White House Spokesman Scott McClellan says he expects the president to speak in what he called "unprecedented detail" about the threat of terrorism.

President Bush will deliver his remarks on Thursday morning at 10:10 a.m. at an event commemorating the victims of the September 11th attacks on the United States.

Mr. McClellan Wednesday described the speech as an effort to raise public awareness about the stakes involved in Iraq. This, as polls show declining public support for the president's Iraq policy.

Democrats have repeatedly called on the president to provide specifics about his plans for Iraq. And the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Delaware Senator Joe Biden says the president has not instituted any regional policy that will keep the violence in Iraq from escalating.

The White House says the speech will rebut such criticism.
