The Charge d’Affaires of the U.S. Mission to Bangladesh, Ms. Judith Chammas said that the political parties in Bangladesh should concentrate on and prepare themselves for democratic battle of ballots instead of taking themselves to the streets. While addressing a gathering on Human Rights Day Ms Chammas says that when the nation is facing a crisis, it is necessary to make the parliament more effective. She said that they would continue their relationship with the government and the opposition to ensure a fair election. The acting head of the US Embassy in Bangladesh also said that the forthcoming election would be critically observed to see whether international standard of democratic norms are maintained.
