Bangladeshi Opposition Alliance seems Opposed to the Inclusion of Anti-Liberation Politicians in Dialogue

The 14-party opposition alliance is likely to boycott the BNP-proposed government-opposition dialogue on reforms on the caretaker government and electoral systems if the government proposed 10-member discussion committee includes any Jamaat-e-Islami or other anti-liberation politician.

In a meeting yesterday key leaders of the Awami League-led opposition alliance discussed BNP Secretary General Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan’s proposal sent by in a letter on Friday to his AL counterpart Abdul Jalil. Many Awami League leaders and the members of its alliance are strongly opposed to sitting with Jama’at on this issue.
