Newly appointed US Ambassador Patricia A Butenis met with Prime Minister Khaleda Zia at her office on Wednesday.
They talked about cooperation between the two countries, upcoming general election in Bangladesh, duty-free access of Bangladeshi goods to the US market and other issues.
Ambassador Butenis is coming to Washington for consultation.
