Unidentified assailants shot and wounded Professor Aftab Ahmad, a professor of political science at Dhaka University and ex-vice chancellor of the National University, at his residence on DU campus on Saturday night.
The police quoting family members said three assailants entered Aftab’s house at 19 G Fuller Road at about 7:40 pm and fired three shots at him from point-blank range and left the place quickly. Professor Ahmad went through surgery in the Combined Military Hospital and it is said that his condition is now stable.
