Bangladesh Biman Stuck in Dubai

Dubai International Airport has re-opened after a minor accident involving a Bangladeshi commercial airliner that injured 14 people.

Airport officials say the accident occurred early on Monday on a runway as a Biman Bangladeshi Airlines Airbus aborted its take-off on a flight to Dhaka.

All 236 passengers and crew were evacuated safely, and the injured were taken to hospitals. The airport re-opened after some seven hours.

Officials say aviation authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, but terrorism is not believed to be a factor.

Dubai is the main trade and tourism center in the United Arab Emirates. Dubai airport handled 29 million passengers last year.
