Garment workers in Bangladesh Rampaged an Area

More than 100 people were injured, about 25 factories vandalized and a similar number of vehicles damaged as garment factory workers went on the rampage at Ashulia of Savar in Dhaka on Tuesday over the rumour about the death of a female worker in a road accident at Narsinghapur.

Several thousand garment factory workers took to the streets and rampaged through the area after blocking the Tongi-Ashulia Road, for which traffic remained suspended for four hours till 1:00pm.

The workers divided into small groups vandalized the factories and stranded vehicles in the presence of lawmen, in which at least 100, including passengers, pedestrians and transport workers, were injured.
