31 Suspected Islamic Militants Arrested in Bangladesh

Police in Bangladesh say they have arrested 31 suspected Islamic militants.

Authorities say those detained belong to the Islamic group, Hizb ut-Tahrir. Police made the arrests Friday during a raid on a meeting near the town of Kushtia. Police say they confiscated books advocating jihad or "holy war," and leaflets.

Hizb ut-Tahrir is an international group aimed at establishing an Islamic nation. Critics say Hizb supports militancy, but the group denies the accusation.
