Bangladesh Law Minister Announces New Agency to Investigate War Crimes

On Thursday Shafique Ahmed, Law Minister of Bangladesh, announced that a new agency will be formed before the 26th of March to investigate war crimes. The agency will consist of 12 members with a former Inspector General of police as its chief.

Another special court will also be formed to prosecute war crimes. Shafique Ahmed said the war crime tribunals will be led by a Supreme Court justice. He also confirmed that the prosecution of these crimes will be held under the International Crimes Tribunals Act of 1973.
