A Rohingya who is unwilling to mention name and relocated to Bashan Char said to VOA Rohingya Lifeline Program that during the trip, U.N. officials looked and visited at facilities built to support the Rohingya such as cyclone shelters, flood protection embankments, facilities for education, farming and fishing, hospitals, playgrounds and so on after talking with Rohingya about getting facilities and situation along with government officials. Also, UN official met and talked separately with some Rohingya without any government officials to know the situations and opinion of Rohingya as well. After it, UN said to Rohingya that it will support and help whatever Rohingya need in Bashan Char such as food, health, education and so on. He added that when both UN and government official asked Rohingyas about returning to their homeland then they expressed their willingness to return to Arakan, Myanmar with the restoration of citizenship rights and other rights. Besides, he added that despite, government of Bangladesh employs police and other forces to ensure the safety and security of Rohingya in Cox’s Bazar migrant camp it can’t control murder and killing of Rohingya there due to crowded people. So, getting chance to be relocated from Cox’s Bazar migrant camp to Bashan Char make us (Relocated Rohingya) safe and pleased though we(Rohingya) get less support and aides here in the Bashan Char than the cox’s Bazar migrant's camp. But Rohingyas in Bashan Char hope that they well get every kinds of facility, supports and aids according to the commitments by UN delegation and government official.
