The DRC Site Management Support teams help the different NGO/Agencies, Camp-In-Charge and the people of the camp according to their needs through possible ways. He says 15-females and 30-males in total 45 volunteers of the DRC’s SMS teams are serving the Rohingya to remain safe from COVID-19 pandemic through holding the awareness sessions on it with different categories of Rohingya such as Imam, teacher, youth, and so on in this COVID-19 pandemic. Then General Team-GT of the Rohingya held awareness with Rohingya in their respective area or blocks. Ayas said that there are about 8-10 members in a family, but International Organization and Migration (IOM) and World Health Organization (WHO) jointly provided two pieces of masks for a family last week. Also, NGO/Agency who serves for the WaSH Program provides two pieces of soap per family in a week. But these are not enough. Moreover, Ayas said that people can be safe from COVID-19 pandemic if the instruction of World Health Organizations- WHO is maintained. But camp is very much congested and about 20 to 25 families use only a toilet, a washroom and a tube-well. Also, some 10-12 family members stay in a small tarpaulin and bamboo made shelters in the camp so they can’t maintain instructions of the WHO like keeping social distance, washing hands frequently and although we ,CwC and other different NGO/ Agency are going Rohingyas blocks practically door to door. Report: VOA News Translator: Sabera Begum (Cox’s Bazar) Related item code: 9-P Duration: 7:00 minutes Topic: The main reason for the Rohingyas to engage in illegal activities: rising unemployment. Translation Summary: NGOs and INGOs have been meeting all the needs of Rohingyas since they took refuge in Bangladesh. There is no substitute for employment to survive well even after help from NGOs. Talking about the employment opportunities in the camps and the unemployment rate, a person named Mohammed Faisal (30) from Camp No. 23 said, there are no job opportunities in the camps according to qualifications. No matter how qualified, NGOs can recruit Rohingya as community volunteers, the outbreak of Covid-19 has limited the work of many NGOs/INGOS and has led to the dismissal of many Rohingya. Moreover, there are restrictions on those who do small businesses or have shops. Now almost everyone in the camp is unemployed. As a result, they can easily get involved in bad deeds. Anti-social activities are increasing in the camps. Faisal thinks that to stop anti-social activities in the camps, the youth should be involved in the work.
