A large delegation of Indian businessmen has arrived in Pakistan for a week-long visit to discuss trade opportunities between the two countries.
The 100-member delegation from the Federation of Indian Chambers and Industries, or FICCI, will spend the first two days in the southern port city of Karachi, before visiting Islamabad and Lahore. In Islamabad, the delegation led by the FICCI President Onkar Singh Kanwar is to meet with top Pakistani leaders, including President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.
Mr. Kanwar said the visit is meant to further expedite the peace process, as well as enhance trade between the two neighbors. Last year, bilateral trade reached less than 500-million dollars.
