National Economic Council of Bangladesh on Wednesday day approved a Tk 24,500 crore Annual Development Program for the next fiscal year, showing a 20 percent hike from the current revised ADP. Actually, the net development expenditure next year will be higher than the ADP, as the NEC yesterday also approved another development allocation of Tk 790 crore under the revenue budget of FY 2005-06. A total of 1,440 development projects including 516 new and unapproved ones would be implemented next fiscal year, with 1,372 under the ADP and 68 under the revenue budget. The number is much higher than that of the previous years.
