The outgoing US Ambassador in Bangladesh Harry K Thomas has had a meeting with the former Prime minister and the leader of the opposition Sheikh Hasina on Thursday . During his farewell call he said that the foreign diplomats in Dhaka, including those of the US, will do everything for holding a free, fair and transparent parliamentary election in Bangladesh. After holding the hour-long meeting with the opposition leader, the US envoy told reporters that they talked about the next general election, Kibria killing and US-Bangladesh relationship. Mr. Abdul Jalil , the General Secretary of Awami League said that the ambassador has put forward US position on the development of democracy in Bangladesh. US Ambassador has expressed the frustration of the US in failing to investigate properly about the attack on the on the opposition leader on August 21, last year.
