In the northern city of Mosul, local officials say a car bomb attack targeting a U.S. military patrol killed three Iraqis and wounded seven others.
There were no reports of American casualties in the incident. The U.S. military said Wednesday that two American troops were killed Tuesday near Ramadi.
Elsewhere in Iraq, the French news agency reports several attacks in Mosul, Kirkuk and a town south of Baghdad.
Also Wednesday, the Philippines said a Philippine hostage was released after nearly eight months in captivity.
