President George W. Bush and his wife Laura sent greetings to Muslimsin the United States and throughout the world as they began the observanceof Ramadan.President Bush said “the month of Ramadan, which commemorates the revelationof the Qur'an to the prophet Muhammed, is the holiest month of the Muslim year. It is a special time of reflection, fasting, and charity. It is also a time ofspiritual growth and prayer and an occasion to remember the less fortunate by sharing God's gifts with those in need.”President Bush also said “throughout our history, America has been blessedby the contributions of people of many different faiths. Our Muslim citizenshave helped make our Nation a stronger and more hopeful place throughtheir faith, generosity, and compassion.” President Bush wished Ramadan Mubarak to all the Muslims in the UnitedStates and around the world.
