Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) organised the discussion at Milon Chattar, beside his grave at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) premises. Dr Milon, the then organising secretary of BMA, was killed in a sniping gun attack on this day in 1990 beside Dhaka University (DU) central library while travelling by a rickshaw during the mass movement against autocrat Ershad regime. Chaired by BMA president Dr MA Hadi, Workers' Party president Rashed Khan Menon, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) president Hasanul Haq Inu, Awami League (AL) presidium member Matia Chowdhury, Khairul Kabir Khokon, Barkatullah Bulu, Amanullah Aman, BMA secretary general Dr AZM Zahid Hossain and Shaheed Dr Milon's mother Selina Akhtar spoke at the discussion. The speakers paid tribute to the sacrifice of Dr Milon during the pro-democracy movement in Bangladesh which resulted in ousting General Ershad , the former army dictator.
