Bangladeshi officials say border guards have detained three men and seized a cache of weapons and ammunition in a remote southeastern district bordering Burma.
Authorities say they found 16 weapons, including a machine gun, along with at least seven-thousand bullets.
The nationality of the men is not clear but a local television station said they were Burmese rebels.
Reuters News Service also quotes an unnamed military source saying the men are Burmese rebels. The source said the rebels often intrude into Bangladesh forests and set up temporary camps after being chased out of Burma by the military.
