The fourteen party opposition alliance which is planning to do a sit-in strike around government’s secretariat building to press for their demand for reforming electoral process have warned the government that if they take any action to suppress the opposition they should be prepared for any consequences.
After a meeting of the alliance, the general secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Abdul Jalil who is also the coordinator of the alliance says that if any obstacles are made during their peaceful demonstration, the government would be solely responsible for whatever follows.
In the meantime, Dhaka Metropolitan Police has banned any kind of gathering around the Secretariat building. In a press release , the police say that due to a planned siege by opposition , the government is taking this measure to assure security of people.
