Chief Minister of West Bengal Buddhadev Bhattacharjee has announced that the central government has approved the setting up of a nuclear power station at Egra in West Bengal's East Midnapore district. This will be the first nuclear power plant in Eastern India. However, many CPM members oppose the plan.
