The first group of Bangladeshis returned from war-torn Lebanon to Dhaka early Sunday.
The first 132 evacuees, including women and children, returned to the capital with the help of the UN's International Organization of Migration, which Dhaka had asked to evacuate about 10 thousand people.
I.O.M. officials said around 150 Bangladeshis would be flown to Dhaka on the earliest available flight, with more to follow.
Officials and returnees said many were reluctant to come home because they feared losing their well-paying jobs in Lebanon.
