The former ousted President of Bangladesh General Hussain Muhammad Ershad who has been widely seen as a dictator recently has indicated that he is likely to join the ruling four party alliance in the upcoming election.
He was formally invited by the leaders of the BNP including Tareque Rahman , the senior joint secretary of the party and the son of the Prime Minister. There has been critical reactions against this decision not only by the opposition but also by one of the major party in the alliance , namely Jamaate Islami.
The JSD leader Hasanul Huq Inu says that Ershad’s inclusion in the four party alliancve only proof that Khaleda Zia can no longer depend on Jamaat –e-Islami but Ershad was never a supporter of the fourteen party opposition coalition and it is not going to do any good to the government alliance.
