Dr. Al Amin Choudhury is a prominent economist from Bangladesh. With a Doctoral degree, from the University of Dhaka, Dr. Choudhury has been a bureaucrat serving the Government of Bangladesh in different capacities with the status of Secretary. After retiring from the government, Dr.Choudhury has been writing on different issues including economy, politics and social order. He is a regular columnist in vernacular Bangla publications. At present he is visiting his family in the USA.
In this interview he talks about the three major challenges that Bangladesh is facing currently -- according to the leading donors to Bangladesh including the World Bank and the IMF. Those three issues are - the need for good governance, the issue of corruption and the topic of separation of judiciary.
