As the news of ProfessorYunus’s Nobel Peace Award spread in West Bengal , Bengalis in that Indian state burst in joy and said that they feel proud of Professor Muhammad Yunus and his achievements.
In a message another Nobel laureate Amartya Sen said that the economic movement which Yunus began for the prosperity of people of Bangladesh has very much benefited them. Professor Yunus can be given credit for whatever reduction in poverty has happened in Bangladesh .
Professor Yunus’s ideas are being increasingly used throughout the world. Buddhadev Bhattacharya, the Chief Minister of West Bengal and Asim Das Gupta , the Finance Minister of West Bengal have also congratulated the Nobel laureate.
