President and Chief Adviser Iajuddin on Sunday expressed hope that all political parties would join the next general elections as differences between the two major alliances are now less.
"An ideal election atmosphere is now prevailing in the country due to the steps taken by the government," Iajuddin told British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Anwar Choudhury during a meeting at Bangabhaban in Dhaka.
Choudhury informed the president that London wanted to see an election participated by all political parties in Bangladesh.
A Bangabhaban spokesman said that the British envoy informed the president that the diplomats already urged parties involved in movements to take part in the election shunning the path of street violence.
