All India Muslim forum “Jamiatul Ulama-e-Hind”s West Bengal state secretary Moulana Siddiqullah Choudhury said Monday's protest rally in Kolkata was not a "Muslim Only " protest march.
He said several other political & social organizations, in addition to Intellectual giants like Mahashweta Devi, Professor Sunindo Sanyal, former Secretary Debabrata Banerjee and many others joined the protest march. He also said the marchers did not break 144 as claimed by authorities but police used batons and threw tear gas. Siddiqullah Choudhury declares, there were almost fifty thousand people who participated in the protest march. It included men & women aggrieved by police firing in Nandigram.
He announced the forum's next program of a silent march through Kolkata streets tomorrow, Wednesday.
