AIDS Threaten Bangladesh

A UN affiliated NGO called LIFE, in a survey, has said that because of the lack of information about AIDS amongst the low income group people, it is feared that the disease might spread fast in Bangladesh.

In a news conference held at the national press conference it was said that about 57% of the lower income group do not believe that AIDS could be a virus, 84% believe that AIDS is a curable disease, and 88% think that children do not have AIDS.

Ninety percent of the rickshaw-pullers in Bangladesh have never heard that there was any disease called AIDS. The statistics make Bangladeshis vulnerable to AIDS.
