The whole of Bangladesh paid tributes to Nazrul Islam on Friday on the occasion of his 108th birth anniversary. Hundreds of people thronged near Nazrul’s mausoleum to pay their respect to this great poet who is also the national poet of Bangladesh.
Amongst who laid flowers on Nazrul’s grave included the Advisor on Education Affairs Ayub Quaderi and the Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University. Members of the poet’s family were also present at his grave. Government in Bangladesh has taken up a two-day’s national program on his birth anniversary.
The Chief Advisor of the Caretaker government in Bangladesh , Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed attended a national program on Nazrul at the Osmani Auditorium in Dhaka.
