More than 600 Bangladeshi fishermen have been stranded on India's eastern coast following a heavy storm in the Bay of Bengal last week.
The fishermen say they are unable to return to their trawlers because of high waves in the bay. Bangladesh's Daily Star newspaper reports a stranded fisherman said that Indian fishermen were assisting stranded people by providing food and security.
On Saturday, more than 100 Bangladeshi fishermen were reported missing after an unexpected storm brought high winds and strong waves to the area.
