Brigadier General (retired) ASM Hannan Shah, of BNP was sent to jail on Monday on completion of his three-day remand.
He was arrested along with others on charges of violating the Emergency Power Rules on November 7. Hannan and others have been charged with assaulting Saifur-led BNP leaders including standing committee member Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman near former president Ziaur Rahman's grave at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on November 7 -- the National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
