Khaleda Quizzed over  NIKO Corruptions

Four officials of the anti-corruption taskforce quizzed former prime minister Khaleda Zia in the special jail on Sangsad Bhaban complex in Niko graft case for more than four hours on Thursday, her lawyers said.

Khaleda’s lawyers Mahbub Uddin Khokon and Masud Ahmed Talukder, who were present during the interrogation, told a news briefing that the detained prime minister denied the graft charge against her.

The charges against Khaleda involve awarding three gas fields to the Calgary-based company, Niko Resources, showing the fields as ‘abandoned’ during her premiership.

On December 9, the ACC filed the case against Khaleda and some other people, including two former cabinet colleagues.
