Democratic Convention 2008: 3rd Day


On the third day of Democratic Party’s convention in Denver, Senator Barack Obama was nominated as the Presidential candidate of the Party.

In a special program, Bangladesh Ambassador to the US, Humayun Kabir who is now in Denver spoke on the overall atmosphere of the Convention, the historic decision to nominate an African- American, participation of several Bangladeshi-Americans, presence of prominent members of the major Bangladeshi political parties at the convention and the future US policies. He said his country expects a new US administration will be helpful in dealing with problems of the least developed nations including poverty alleviation.

Tania Hossain a Bangladeshi-American –Democratic Party member from the State of Virginia in an interview from Denver Command Center spoke on the participation of women and the youth of America and the atmosphere at the Convention.
