US Ambassador to Bangladesh James
Moriarty said on Sunday that the US
hopes a free, fair and credible election is held by December with participation
of all major political parties according to the EC's roadmap.
Welcoming the release of BNP chief Khaleda Zia and Awami League chief Sheikh
Hasina, he said they hope the major political parties including the two leaders
will work together, which would be good for democracy.
He was talking to local journalists during his visit to Kumudini Hospital in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail on
Sunday .
In the mean time the Advisor for Commerce
, Zillur Rahman said the government was working out a mode to bring
two top leaders —Hasina and the BNP chairperson, Khaleda Zia — across the table
for a discussion where social forces would also have an important role to play.
USAID Mission Director Denise Rollins, Director of Kumudini Welfare Trust
Protibha Mutsuddi and Managing Director of Kumudini Complex Rajib Prasad Saha
were also there.
