Sheikh Hasina, the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and President of Awami League said after all is said and done the caretaker government of Bangladesh should go ahead with National Election first. She praised the expatriate Bangladeshis for their contributions to the country's economy .
Hasina was speaking at an Iftar Party at New York. She said that despite different conspiracies she has faith on the Bengalis both inside and outside the country. She said that she was in New York to express her gratitude to the Bengali Diaspora who have been playing important roles throughout the history of Bangladesh.
The former Prime Minister narrated her 2020 Vision of leading Bangladesh to 2020 which include elimination of illiteracy amongst 80 percent of the poor people in the country, improved educational system , self sufficiency in food, better health for all and a democracy for a free and independent country.
Sheikh Hasina in her speech focused on various topics relating to Bangladesh. She criticized the present government and said that she was falsely accused in several cases by this interim government.
