Dr Babu Ram Bhattarai , the finance minister of Nepal was in Washington recently. Dr Bhattarai attended the meetings of the World Bank and IMF at Washington. Since the new government came to Nepal , Mr Bhattarai is the first Nepalese minister to visit Washington.
In this exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service, he spoke on the situation of Nepal, SAARC, Nepal Bangladesh relations and the current financial crisis. He said that in the World Bank-IMF meeting they talked about the present financial crisis and its impact on South Asia including Nepal.
Babu Ram Bhattarai also said that Nepal is passing through a remarkable historic moment because it has abolished a two hundred and fifty years' old feudal monarchy and established democracy .
