Bengali and English newspapers in Bangladesh welcomed the election of Barack Obama as the President of United States. Some of the newspaper editorials commented on what can be learnt by others from this election.

Former diplomat, ambassador Serajul Islam in an interview with voice of America expressed hope that there will be tremendous change in US foreign policy. Akmal Hussain, Professor of International Relations at Dhaka University also expects President-elect Obama to bring change in US policy.
