Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed the home ministry to prepare a comprehensive report on how to fight extremism and terrorism in line with her promise to form a South Asian task force.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today asked the home ministry to take steps to prevent any sort of violence in the country.
At a meeting with ministers and senior bureaucrats at the conference room of the cabinet, the prime minister also stressed forming a taskforce to tackle terrorism.
Law and order, terrorism and militancy were on the top of the meeting's agenda.
Hasina dubbed a home ministry report on terrorism and militancy incomplete and asked the ministry to complete the report and submit it in the next meeting.
In the meeting, the speech of the president that will be delivered at the first session of the 9th parliament has been approved after some corrections.
The cabinet also discussed about the pledged South Asian taskforce to tackle terrorism and extremism in the region. The Prime Minister sought help from other countries to form the taskforce.
"It's not possible to curb terrorism without local and international help," Hasina was quoted as saying by her Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad.
The PM asked all to stay alert about terrorism.
